Biomedical Telehealth for Autism

Your child deserves answers, not just a diagnosis.

Neuro Root connects families of autistic children with biomedical specialists who look beyond behavior — and find what's actually driving the condition.

ROOT CAUSE PILLARS
The Problem

Most families are told to manage the symptoms. We believe in finding the cause.

Neuro Root connects families of autistic children with biomedical specialists who look beyond behavior — and find what's actually driving the condition.

The NeuroRoot Solution

Specialized biomedical care, from (almost) anywhere in the USA.

Neuro Root is a telehealth platform that connects families of autistic children with practitioners trained in biomedical root-cause care in over 45 states — the kind of care that investigates what's actually happening inside your child's body.

We look at gut health, mitochondrial function, folate transport, heavy metal exposure, and metabolic markers. The underlying factors that conventional medicine doesn't test for.

The 6 Root Cause
Areas We Investigate

Most autism care addresses behavior. We address biology. These are the six underlying areas our practitioners assess — because no two children are the same.

Gut Dysbiosis

An imbalanced gut microbiome is directly linked to inflammation, mood dysregulation, and the behavioral symptoms families see every day.

Toxic accumulation of mercury, lead, and arsenic impairs neurological development. A simple panel identifies the burden and guides targeted treatment.

Neuroinflammation

Chronic immune activation in the brain disrupts neural signaling, impairs development, and drives many of the cognitive and behavioral patterns seen in autism.

Methylation Dysfunction

When the methylation cycle is impaired, detoxification and neurotransmitter production are compromised — affecting mood, focus, and behavior.

Finally, Real Answers

Lab testing that actually tells you something.

Our practitioners use a comprehensive panel of specialized tests — not the standard bloodwork that comes back "normal" while your child continues to struggle.

How NeuroRoot Works

Our practitioners use a comprehensive panel of specialized tests — not the standard bloodwork that comes back "normal" while your child continues to struggle.

Smiling woman typing on a laptop as a boy hugs her from behind in a bright living room.
Step 1: Order
Sign up and complete your family intake form

Tell us about your child's history, symptoms, and current care. Our thorough intake process means your specialist arrives prepared — not starting from scratch.

Step 2: Labwork
Receive at home test kit, complete it and ship it out

Home collection kits ship directly to you. No clinic visit required. Samples are collected at home and mailed to the lab — your specialist reviews results virtually.

Step 3: Protocol
Receive your labratory results via email

Review your lab results together on a video call and receive a personalized intervention plan — built specifically for your child's biology, not a generic template.

"After two years of being told there was nothing more to do beyond ABA, we finally found practitioners who looked at what was actually happening in my son's body. Within six months we saw real changes."

Common Questions

We get asked a lot.
Here are the big ones.

Still have questions?

Do you prescribe Leucovorin?

Not yet but we will soon be able to prescribe Leucovorin once our Telehealth Service is live.

What is biomedical treatment for autism?

Biomedical treatment investigates and addresses the underlying biological factors that may be contributing to your child's symptoms — things like gut health, nutritional deficiencies, toxic exposures, and metabolic dysfunction. Rather than managing behavior, we look at what's happening inside your child's body and why.

How is this different from ABA therapy?

ABA focuses on teaching skills and modifying behavior. Biomedical care works alongside behavioral therapies by addressing the physical factors that may be making it harder for your child to learn and develop. Many families find that resolving root causes significantly enhances the effectiveness of their existing therapies.

Is this covered by insurance?

Most biomedical telehealth services are not covered by standard plans, though some lab testing may be partially reimbursable. We'll provide clear pricing upfront and, where possible, superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Our goal is to make this as accessible as we possibly can.

What ages do you work with?

Early intervention produces the best outcomes, so our primary focus is children from infancy through early adolescence. If you have an older child and are wondering whether biomedical approaches could still help, join the waitlist — our team will be in touch to discuss your situation specifically.

How does telehealth work for this type of care?

Your consultation happens by video call. Lab test kits are shipped to your home — samples are collected there and mailed to the lab. Your specialist reviews results virtually and builds a personalized protocol. Follow-up appointments track your child's progress over time. You never need to travel to see a specialist.

What lab tests do you use?

We use a comprehensive panel including the Organic Acids Test (OAT), Heavy Metals Panel, Micronutrient Panel, Stool Analysis, Methylation Markers, and the Folate Receptor Antibody Test. The specific tests recommended for your child depend on their symptom profile, age, and history.

How long before we see results?

Every child is different. Some families notice meaningful changes within 6–8 weeks of starting targeted interventions; others take longer. Our practitioners set realistic expectations during the first consultation and track progress at every follow-up. This is a process, not a quick fix — but the results are real.

Is this safe?

Our practitioners follow evidence-informed protocols and never recommend interventions without supporting lab data. We don't promote unproven or experimental therapies. All interventions are individualized, monitored closely, and adjusted based on your child's response. Your child's safety is the first priority — always.
